Frequently Asked Questions

What are Pink Sweetheart Keepsakes?

My memory keepsakes are lovingly handmade using your baby’s or a loved ones cherished clothing.  Each keepsake is totally unique and is a way of beautifully displaying items that otherwise may be stored away.  I can make keepsakes using most types of fabric including a baby’s special outfits or baby grows, first school uniforms, football shirts …the list is endless!

How many and what items of clothing are required to create a keepsake?

Each keepsake requires approximately 5-15 baby grows or equivalent in other clothes although I do require an extra 2 items if the clothing is particularly small/newborn.

The red, white and blue bunny pictured below used 6 baby grows and the little red gingham shirt.  This allowed me to be more creative.

Also, the more embellishments the better as I like to take bits from one baby grow and mix and match them with other baby grows.  It also helps if the clothing coordinates well together but this is not essential. If you would like certain items of clothing to appear more prominent on the keepsake please feel free to add this to the notes section of the order form.

Most types of clothing can be used as long as it is not too thick, padded or knitted.

All the fabric that I use will be fully lined with interfacing to add to the keepsakes strength and durability.

All unused/uncut items will be returned along with your finished keepsake.  I can also return all the leftover cuttings although this may add to postage costs.

Can my keepsake be personalised?

Yes, I can machine embroider details such as a name, date of birth, time of birth, weight or even a little message. The cost for this service varies depending on your requirements.

How long will my keepsake take to make?

Each memory keepsake takes many hours to create as each one includes hand embroidery and hand sewing.  As my keepsakes are very popular I do have a waiting list.  You will be given an approximate start date and your keepsake should be ready within four weeks of that date.

For the current waiting do not hesitate to contact me.

Can Pink Sweetheart Keepsakes be used as toys?

The keepsakes that I create should not be used as toys or be handled by anybody under the age of 14.  They do not carry the CE mark required for toys and can not be safety tested as the fabric used is provided by the customer.

How and where do I send my clothes?

Once you have placed your order I will email you all the information that you will need and a link to my online order form.  As I am sure you would understand I am unable to start on your order until I have received the form.

I recommend that all clothes are sent using recorded delivery in a waterproof mailing bag.  I cannot be responsible for any items lost in the post on their way to me.

How will I receive my keepsake/s?

All finished memory keepsakes will be sent out using a courier and must be signed for.  Once the parcel is in the hands of the courier it is no longer my responsibility and any loss would then be the responsibility of the courier service.

As Pink Sweetheart cares for the environment I like to use clean recycled packaging to send your keepsake/s to you.

How do I care for my memory keepsake?

I do not recommend that you wash your keepsake in the washing machine as this may cause damage and/or loss of shape.  I suggest that you use a damp cloth to gently clean the surface of your keepsake.

Can I get a refund for my keepsake?

I do not offer refunds on any of my bespoke of personalised items unless they are faulty.  This complies with the Sale of Goods Act.

I will however offer a refund if I have not yet started your keepsake. but this would be minus the postage costs to send your clothing items back to you.
