I’m Jayne, the creator of Pink Sweetheart. I spend most of my waking hours at the sewing machine, embroidery machine or hand sewing! Creating is my passion and has been for as long as I can remember.
With a little persuasion from my friends and family, I decided to start showcasing some of my handmade creations and that led to the birth of Pink Sweetheart.
The keepsake side of the business came about when a very close friend, Nicola, asked if I could make a bunny using her beautiful daughter Anaya's first precious clothes. Not being one to turn down a challenge I thought I would give it a go. Nicola was delighted with the finished bunny! I then went on to make a keepsake quilt using Anaya's clothes and a few more keepsakes for other friends and family and very soon started getting orders from their friends. I fell in love with the whole process of creating something beautiful using something so precious.
I was educated in York, where I was brought up, and quickly realised that design was my future. After school I spent 6 years studying Art and Design including attending the beautiful Bretton Hall College set in the grounds of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (well worth a visit if you are in the area!). My love for Yorkshire has always remained with me and that is where I live now, in a little cottage. The heart of the cottage is my lovely sewing room where I produce all of your keepsakes.
